About Us

The Jalingo Children Project was established in June 2019 upon the appeal of Mr. Kenneth Thomas. Children in the villages surrounding Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria, were orphaned when their parents were killed in tribal fighting. Thirty-two children relocated to temporary displaced persons camps in the city of Jalingo. Mr. Thomas, a former missionary associate of Rev. Greg Lawton, appealed to the Lawton family for support to enroll these children in the Government Day School.

From this simple and profound request, the Jalingo Children Project was born.

We currently support the education and welfare of 18 students who live in a dormitory on the school grounds. This classifies our efforts as a Boarding School by Nigerian standards and as such, we now have 501c3 tax exempt status in the USA.

We depend upon the generosity of our donors.
