It's July. Normally that means decent weather but this year is nothing like normal. After a very hot April and May, there has been more rain than usual through June and July. This means floods, water sanitation issues, and mosquitoes. We battle malaria and other mosquito-borne illnesses every day. They lead to hospitalizations and missed days in school.
Medical expenses aside, this began as a scholarship program to enable orphans to get a high-quality education to improve their standing in the world. School fees and food expenses are due again on August 4. Like we've experienced in the US, all costs are going up and now it costs about $185 per child to be enrolled and to provide nourishing food for 4 months. If you can contribute, I ask you to so soon and thank you.
